Ride MapThe weather is warming up and it's time to start increasing the distance of our rides, but not necessarily the total ascent. The route is very flat for Austin, so it will be more on the C+/B- side of the pace and distance chart (15-17 mph average). One rest stop is planned in Cedar Creek, but we have options if more are needed. Post ride socializing and hydration at Maria's Taco Xpress after the ride. NOTE THE EARLIER STARTING TIME!!!
Start Location: Bicycle Sport Shop - South Contact: Louis Mestier, , mistertax@hotmail.com
Ride MapThe classic Dam(n) Loop, with a bit of an extension just to make it more interesting. Lots of fun hills, but nothing too terrible. Expect a good workout. We'll meet up in the gravel overflow parking across the street from the Bull Creek Park closest to 360 and Lakewood.
Start Location: Bull Creek Park Overflow Parking Contact: Daniel Hurlbert, , dhurlbert@gmail.com

This is the inaugural ride of a series featuring West Austin's greatest natural resource: steep hills! We'll warm up on Exposition, Mt. Bonnell, and Mesa, then tackle the centerpieces of the ride: the back sides of Jester hill (Beauford Dr) and Courtyard, with options for riders who'd like to skip either or both. The remainder of the ride features the comparatively gentle terrain of Toro Canyon and Cuernavaca before returning to Mozart's for coffee and camaraderie.
We won't average anything near 16mph due to the steep terrain, but this will be a solidly "B"-effort ride. No-drop for B-/C+ riders--we'll regroup at the top of the climbs.

Ride MapThis 47 mile ride goes from the Peddler to the old Cele store in NE Travis county and back to Austin through Manor. The terrain is mostly flat, with a sufficient number of rolling hills. Traffic on a Sunday morning is usually light and the urban/suburban sections are on good wide roads. There are some busy crossings. Average speed should be 14-15 mph, closer to 15.

Ride Map A popular ACA route that is quite close in and yet uses rural farm roads out to Elgin. Couple of (Walnuts) rollers, otherwise quite flat. Moderate to fast pace. Still no-drop for all "C+" and "B" riders. And we now PROMISE no more off-road bridge crossings. Anybody know where we can get coffee afterwards?
